Declaration State of Emergency - Burn Ban:

The Town of Bolton has officially declared a State of Emergency to reinforce the State of Connecticut's Burn Ban. Due to the prolonged period of extremely dry weather coupled with the very dry ground and no immediate rain forecasted there is NO BURNING PERMITTED.  This declaration will stay in effect until the state removes its declaration and the state of emergency is lifted.

Timber Harvests in Bolton
The Inland Wetlands Commission has the responsibility to determine if a proposed timber harvesting operation requires a permit or if it is a nonregulated use of a wetland or watercourse.  Those proposing a timber harvest have the responsibility to provide sufficient information to enable the Inland Wetlands Commission to properly make that determination.

The Notification of Timber Harvest form, which was developed by industry representatives, must be remitted to the Commission. An applicant must answer the questions listed on the form and provide the needed information. It is submitted electronically through the ViewPoint system at boltonct.portal.opengov.com. Applicants may upload their maps as PDFs, or deliver paper copies to Town Hall. Applicants who are unfamiliar with the ViewPoint system, and who otherwise need assistance, are urged to email Danielle Palazzini or call 860-649-8066 x6103.

WE NEED HELP!
The Bolton Inland Wetlands Commission is a vibrant group of very concerned residents that want to protect and preserve the wetlands of Bolton. The Commission reviews applications for activities proposed within 100 feet of a wetland or watercourse and decides whether the activities are allowed by the inland wetlands regulations. It is a very important function for the future of Bolton.

No experience, other than caring, is necessary. Training classes will be provided at no cost to the volunteer. This is your chance to make a difference.
