HOW DO I GET A LIBRARY CARD
IN PERSON
Present a valid photo ID with a Bolton address (driver’s license or passport, for instance). If you are new to Bolton and have not yet changed the address on your license, you may use the license for photo ID purposes and also bring in a piece of official mail—not personal letters—addressed to you at your Bolton address, such as an electric bill or bank statement. A parent or guardian must accompany children under 17 requesting a library card.
Renewals: Our library cards are valid for a three-year term. Bring your full-sized library card at the time of renewal. If we have your e-mail address, you will receive advance notification of your card’s expiration
Important details about library cards: A valid adult or juvenile Connecticut public library borrower card must be presented by the borrower each time materials are borrowed. A library card may be used only by the person to whom the card was issued and may not be transferred to another person.
Your first card is FREE. There is a $2.00 replacement charge for lost cards.
