Herrick Park

Herrick Park is located at 29 Hebron Road. A playscape and picnic area are highlights of the park. It also has two ball fields which double as a soccer field each fall. The greatest asset of Herrick Park is the community building, which is not only used regularly by many groups during the year, but also can be rented for special occasions. There is also an outdoor basketball court and an area that is flooded in the winter for skating, and the park is open year-round.

For Herrick Park rentals contact: Selectmen's office at hr@boltonct.gov.

HERRICK PARK RENTALS

The community building at Herrick Park is available for rent by both residents and non-residents. Inside, you'll find a fully equipped kitchen with a stove, refrigerator, and microwave. We provide tables (8 ft rectangular) and chairs for your convenience, but you'll need to set them up and take them down before and after your event (tablecloths are highly recommended). The rental period is for five (5) hours, and we kindly ask that events conclude at least one hour before the end of your rental time to allow for cleanup.

The building can accommodate up to 80 guests at tables. If you plan to serve alcohol at your event, you will need to submit a letter of intent (a sample letter is available here). The letter must specify the type of event and the exact types of alcohol to be served. Additionally, a $1,000,000 liability policy is required. This policy can be obtained through the Town’s insurance provider, CIRMA, using "GatherGuard."
Please email us for more information.  Both the letter and liability policy need to be submitted at least 60 days prior to the event to the Selectman’s office (hr@boltonct.gov) for approval.

The rental fee for residents is $300.00, plus a refundable deposit of $200.00, provided the facility is left in the same condition as found. Proof of residency is required.

For non-residents, the rental fee is $450.00, plus a refundable deposit of $400.00, also contingent on the facility being left in its original condition.

Before making any plans, please call the Selectmen's Office (860  649 8066) to check date availability. The only way to secure a reservation is by visiting Town Hall at 222 Bolton Center Road, Bolton, CT, to complete a contract. Please note that we do not accept credit cards; payment must be made via cash or check. Two separate checks are required: one for the rental fee and one for the deposit.

Please note, Herrick Park is a public space, and residents and guests are free to visit the park and use the playground, fields, and outdoor areas at any time. The Town of Bolton cannot guarantee that there won't be a sporting event, practice, or group activity utilizing the outdoor areas (including parking spaces) during your event. There are outdoor restroom facilities on the far side of the building for the general public, while you and your guests will have access to indoor restrooms.

Additionally, please be aware that returning your deposit may take up to eight (8) weeks after your event.
