Declaration State of Emergency - Burn Ban:

The Town of Bolton has officially declared a State of Emergency to reinforce the State of Connecticut's Burn Ban. Due to the prolonged period of extremely dry weather coupled with the very dry ground and no immediate rain forecasted there is NO BURNING PERMITTED.  This declaration will stay in effect until the state removes its declaration and the state of emergency is lifted.

Holiday Closures:
  • Town Offices: Closed Thursday, November 28, and Friday, November 29. Reopen December 2.
  • Bentley Memorial Library: Closed November 28–30. Reopen December 2.
  • Trash & Recycling: Delayed by one day starting November 28.

Hike through Freja Park to the Hop River State Park Trail to Valley Falls via the HOP RIVER TRAIL and back. <br><br></span><span style="color: var(--base-typography-color); font-family: var(--base-typography-fontFamily); font-size: var(--base-typography-fontSize); font-weight: var(--base-typography-fontWeight); letter-spacing: var(--base-typography-letterSpacing);">From the Hop River Trail see the trails the BCC helped create and manage such as the green-blazed Kempf Trail through Freja Park to the Railroad Brook Restoration Project, Mohegan Trail in Bolton Notch State Park, future Box Mt Forest Trail now part of the Old Growth Forest Network (OGFN), Tulip Tree Trail, and newly inducted OGFN Echo Ridge/Webster Preserve trailhead. On the return trip follow the Blue-blazed Shenipsit Trail over the Notch Pond overlook where observers may see the unexplained circles on the ice.</span></p>
