Declaration State of Emergency - Burn Ban:

The Town of Bolton has officially declared a State of Emergency to reinforce the State of Connecticut's Burn Ban. Due to the prolonged period of extremely dry weather coupled with the very dry ground and no immediate rain forecasted there is NO BURNING PERMITTED.  This declaration will stay in effect until the state removes its declaration and the state of emergency is lifted.

BOARD OF ASSESSMENT APPEALS
TOWN OF BOLTON

Property owners and lessees have the right under Connecticut General Statutes, Sections 12-110, 12-111 and 12-504d to appeal the assessment of motor vehicles, personal property and real estate on the 2023 Grand List.  CGS §12-117 requires written appeals to be received by the Board of Assessment Appeals at Town Hall on or before 6:30 pm, Tuesday, March 5, 2024.  Appellants will be notified of the time and date when the BAA will hear their appeal.  The BAA will meet in the Bolton Town Hall on April 13, 15, 16 and 17, 2024.

The appeal form must contain the following information:  the property owner’s name; name and position of the signer; description of the property that is the subject of the appeal; name and mailing address of the party to be sent all correspondence by the BAA, reason for the appeal, appellant’s estimate of value and dated signature of the property owner or duly authorized agent of the property owner.

If any of these items are not provided, the Board can decide not to hear an appeal.
