CANCELLATION OF DECLARATION OF STATE OF EMERGENCY

Effective Wednesday, November 27, 2024, the Town of Bolton has CANCELLED the town-wide burn ban. This decision comes as the current forest fire danger level has been reduced to “low” over the past few days.

MUST BE LICENSED AS A CONNECTICUT BUILDING OFFICIAL, CONNECTICUT ASSISTANT BUILDING OFFICIAL, ELECTRICAL INSPECTOR OR RESIDENTIAL BUILDING INSPECTOR TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION.  Will consider training an individual with the right combination of experience and education.

The Town of Bolton is now hiring an Assistant Building Official (A.B.O.) FULL TIME OR WILL CONSIDER PART-TIME AS WELL for a shared services position in the towns of Bolton, Ashford, Andover, Marlborough, and Willington.  This position is under the direction of the Chief Building Official and will carry out a comprehensive building advisory, inspection, and enforcement program. The A.B.O will administer and enforce the State Building Code, Town building ordinances, and regulations related to health, safety, fire codes, and environmental statutes. This is a 37 hour per week position with starting pay at $37.42 per hour.  This position comes with full benefits including medical (state health plan through Anthem), Dental and Vision (Cigna), Life Insurance, and a 457 Retirement Plan that the town makes a 6.5% contribution to (after probationary period is over) - no matching funds required.

Senior Center Van Driver

Part-time driver needed for the Senior Center on an as needed basis.  Must possess CDL license with passenger endorsement and clean driving record.  Subject to background check.  Works under the direction of the Director of Senior and Social Services.  Operates vans for up to 20 passengers to pick up and deliver seniors and disabled adults to the Senior Center, medical appointments, shopping, errands and other events as assigned.  Positive customer service and confidentiality required.

The position is currently paid $20.00 per hour, and hours per week vary.
