Board of Assessment Appeals
Notice is hereby given that there will be a Special Meeting of the Board of Assessment Appeals at the Town Hall, Lower Level, 222 Bolton Center Rd., Bolton, CT on April 21, 2025, at 9:00am, for the purpose of hearing appeals due to the change in the motor vehicle depreciation schedule, per House Bill 7067, Section 2. No other items will be considered at this meeting.

HAZARD TREE REMOVAL, HOP RIVER TRAIL SP
The CT Deep State Parks Division will be conducting a hazard tree removal project along the Hop River Rails to Trails SP. The work will start at Bolton Notch SP and proceed east toward Columbia, ending at the Kings Rd. crossing. This work will be done by a contractor, J&J Bros, under state contract.

NOTE FROM ASSESSOR’S OFFICE: There has been a change in Connecticut General Statutes affecting Motor Vehicle appeals. Vehicles are valued on a declining percentage of their original MSRP. The only grounds for appeals is if the vehicle owner disagrees with the MSRP used. Appeals of a vehicle’s condition, mileage, being a salvage vehicle or having a rebuilt title is no longer allowed.
